Special Services
-
Our team of special education professionals works collaboratively with students, families, and general education teachers to meet the needs of students with disabilities.

We provide specialized instruction, accommodations and services such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, and counseling, all in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Our goal is to empower students with the skills and strategies they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

In New York State, parents who choose to homeschool their children must ensure that the student receives an education equivalent to what is provided in public schools.

Parents/guardians are required to submit a written notice of intent to homeschool to the school district superintendent.

For more information on the specific requirements and guidelines for homeschooling in NYS, please visit the New York State Education Department's website.

The McKinney-Vento Act is a federal law that addresses the educational needs and rights of homeless children and youth.

It ensures homeless students have equal access to education by providing funding for educational programs and services, removing enrollment barriers, and promoting school stability.

The act also requires schools to identify and support homeless students so they can receive the necessary resources to succeed academically.
