How to Become a Coach - Steps to Certification
- Acquire appropriate CPR/AED Certification
- Acquire appropriate First Aid Certification
- Acquire appropriate Concussion Management Certification
- Complete the “Child Abuse” online course
- Complete the “School Violence Prevention” online course
- Complete a DASA course
- Fill out appropriate paperwork for “Hiring” at the Rockland Central Office (Phone: 845-439-1500 ext. 7201). Set up an appointment with Marlyn Peters, District Clerk, to be fingerprinted (Phone: 845-439-1500 ext. 7201).
- Create an online account with T.E.A.C.H. Scroll down to the bottom to create an account.
- Apply through your newly created T.E.A.C.H. account for a coaching certificate for the appropriate sport. Check BOCES Approve.
- Contact Athletic Director Christopher Hubert by phone at 845-439-1500 ext. 7701) so the district can add the appropriate information to your application.
