Athletics
The Rockland Central School District Athletics Department, administration, and Board of Education believes that involvement in extracurricular activities encourages and enhances the development of well-rounded individuals. Participation in athletics is deemed a privilege and not a right. Student-athletes who participate in interscholastic athletics are to recognize their obligation to one’s self, teammates, coaching staff, school, and community. During these experiences we strive to develop positive role models who portray proper sportsmanship, self-control, character, and self-discipline.
The Athletic Code of Conduct as put forth by the Rockland Central School District shall govern all participants in interscholastic athletics with no exception. These standards are implemented to run hand-in-hand with that of the school district. All grading procedures, rules, and regulations parallel that of the school systems. All rules must be read and acknowledged prior to participation in any and all sports that the student-athlete partakes in. Any violation of the Code of Conduct is considered serious and will be documented and acted upon quickly. Violation of both the district and/or Athletic Code of Conduct will result in disciplinary action according to the severity of the incident.
