Congratulations to the two dozen Rockland students who participated in the NYSSMA Solo Festival earlier this month.
The event at Sullivan West High School gave students a chance to perform vocal and/or instrumental solos for adjudicators. 
The following students participated: Alexis Acosta, Josephine Anderes, Leela Bailey, Connor Casey, Noah DeFreitas, Hailey DeVito, Bryce Edwards, Amelia Gardner, Mara Gorr, Sage Gorr, Anthony Heusel, Sydney Kehrer, Charlotte Lindholm, Julie-Maye MacManus, Kierah Mattingley, Arianna Olsen, Mila Park, Mason Roberts, Mia Rodriguez, Savannah Ryder, Lillian Sheldon, Rachel Sprouse, Grace Ward and Jenessa Wells.
"For students, participation in NYSSMA requires significant preparation, hard work and courage," said elementary chorus teacher Mrs. Kelly Bullis. 
"We're proud to say that our music students went above and beyond, preparing scales, solos, and sight-reading ability," added Ms. Jordana Maraj, elementary band and middle/high school chorus teacher.
"They absolutely rocked it!" said high school band teacher Mr. Dan Smith. "Please join us in congratulating them all!"
