Lockdown drill set for 3/13/26

Posted Date: 02/25/26 (05:00 PM)

Dear Wolfpack Families,

Education Law §807 provides that all public schools conduct a minimum of four lockdown drills throughout the course of the school year.  In conjunction with this and in order to provide our students with better knowledge of this process, we will be conducting another drill 3/13/26.  Please also allow this to serve as a reminder that we will be having a half day on that date.  The Elementary building will dismiss at 11:30 and the middle/high school at 11:45.

Please note, that at no time during the course of the drill will any mechanisms or devices be used to simulate events that could transpire during an actual lockdown situation.  Similar to what has been done in the past, this drill will simply require that students seek safety inside their classrooms while in the presence of a RCSD employee.  Coordination with our local emergency response teams and staff will aid in support that the drill is run both properly and efficiently.  Should you seek further input, please do not hesitate to reach out to your school level administration directly.

Yours in safety & education,

Adam Larson Robin Francisco
